Probably the greatest footballing cliché is 'it's a game of two halves', this is seldom the case but in GOTB's second league game it was... well almost.

A first half performance that saw Glasgow On The Ball look more like Glasgow Off The Boil allowed Wednesday to lead by two goals to nil. Wednesday's numbers 77 and tall number 9 caused all sorts of problems. There were brief moments of hope as Ross and Calum Glasgow linked up well with the supporting Samuel Kerr but the overall team performance was looking as limp and vulnerable as Jason's strapped up wrist. The support that is normally so dependable, Andrew McNee, even found himself in an uncharacteristic spot of bother which could have resulted in a red card. The half time whistle couldn't come soon enough, this allowed Mains to shuffle his deck and for the team to regroup.

The impact of the subs would be significant as Bahaa looked bold and relentless down the left wing, allowing Sam more time to express himself and take on defensive duties. A similar case could be said for Cal, he retreated to right back and looked most assured, his lung bursting runs and industrious work rate did not go unnoticed.

The closing twenty minutes allowed GOTB to look more like themselves and they started to create some chances. Callum Glasgow played a delicate through ball to Baha who skilfully edged the ball past the keeper meaning that GOTB had pulled one goal back.

Captain Rankin drove the ball up frequently with runs that eased the pressure but also caused Wednesday trouble, he drew a foul as he entered the final third. A free kick was dinked into the box by Sam and a grateful Ally McCulloch, also an impactful substitute, made a superb connection with the ball which drew the game level.

The 'Baw could have nicked all three points, which would have been quite an injustice but they will take hope from the manner in which they concluded this game. As stated, this game was almost the epitome of one footballing cliché, to conclude with another, we are only as good as our next game; the next game needs to be three points.
