Brechin Community Football Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Jamie Reynolds as the new Development Officer.
The football family across Brechin and the surrounding areas has been working over the past 2 years to bring the game together and form a Charitable Trust. Brechin Community Football Trust was established in October 2019 and sets out through a partnership approach to enhance and deliver a range of changing lives programmes using football as a vehicle to do so. Working closely with the Scottish FA East Region the trustees are continuing to develop partnerships and make stronger connections to benefit their community and ultimately make an impact on the people living within the area.
The trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Jamie Reynolds as a Full Time Development Officer to help further bring to life the aims of BCFT. Football is a core function of the trust with aims to grow participation by increasing recruitment and retention of participants, regardless of age, gender, background or ability. A huge variety of forms of football are already on offer locally such as walking football. Participation delivers invaluable skills such as teamwork, leadership, respect, an appreciation of the importance of hard work and resilience.
Beyond growing the game, the trust aims to use football and getting people active to bring about positive changes beyond participation and impact positively on the health and wellbeing of individuals, on their skills and learning, and on communities, ensuring a more inclusive and healthier lifestyle.
Newly appointed Jamie said “I am delighted to get started with the trust and look forward to making a positive impact in the community. I will be a familiar face for some, having been involved in football in Brechin for a number of years now and look forward to continuing developing young players as well as growing football for all ages in the town”.
Dave Hill, of BCFT said “This is just the beginning of the next level involving many past and current custodians of our community. Bringing the game together at a local level has been a challenging yet fantastic process and it’s exciting to see how the BCFT (trust) will use football and physical activity as a vehicle to achieve both increased participation and wider social outcomes within Angus”.
